Sony really does not have a gamer first mentality and if you think they do, stop drinking the Kool-Aid. Ubisoft finally announces and shows off its newest Assassin's Creed, Shadows, set in feudal Japan, allowing everyone to play out their Shogun dreams. Meanwhile, Square Enix is finally going to support a multiplatform agenda, and Helldivers breaks a record. Also Hollywood upfronts are going on, so we have a ton of TV news, not to be outdone, by the announcement of a new Lord of the Rings movie, or the return of Happy Gilmore.

X-Men 97 is robbing us all of the cake, well, maybe, at least that is what the trailer is telling us. Marvel is also looking to dump Kang and his council, while DC is not printing money and is avoiding a Batman Beyond movie. How the could fumble the bag that much is beyond me. And just like that, Thrawn is alive, and in person in Ahsoka. Would I have believed you if you told me five years ago Thrawn would appear in person, probably not, yet here we are. Also Microsoft really needs to find staff members that can upload a redacted document, that stays redacted. Because those leaks are no joke, especially when "private" emails are made public. E3 might be cancelled, but what happened over the last few days sure feels like E3. We had an Xbox Games Showcase, Ubisoft Forward, Summer Games Fest, Capcom Showcase, and and whole lot more. And boy, how about that Starfield Direct, that is the first time I've been excited for a Bethesda game.
