Its that magical time of year, when all the games are announced, and the big 3 come together! I'm talking about, wait, no, E3 is gone, but its spirit lives on, in this disjointed days of virtual press conferences. Xbox had their Games Showcase and didn't show any of the tentpoles, Summer Games Fest knocked it out of the park with Resident Evil 9, and IGN Live tried to fill in some gaps. Sony really does not have a gamer first mentality and if you think they do, stop drinking the Kool-Aid. Xbox shows up to play at TGS, Ubisoft faces its second strike in a year, Blizzard is making some interesting moves, and California wants gamers to be informed. But that wasn't the only news out of Gamescom this week, another Bethesda title is going multiplatform, old franchises are returning, and new adaptations are unexpectedly coming! Also, don't go after actors for roles they play, they aren't really those characters! Meanwhile, Deadpool & Wolverine continues to break records, Indiana Jones's hat sells for over $600k, and The Acolyte is sent packing. Well would you look at that, 6 years in, we are still rambling about nonsense. Ubisoft finally announces and shows off its newest Assassin's Creed, Shadows, set in feudal Japan, allowing everyone to play out their Shogun dreams. Meanwhile, Square Enix is finally going to support a multiplatform agenda, and Helldivers breaks a record. Also Hollywood upfronts are going on, so we have a ton of TV news, not to be outdone, by the announcement of a new Lord of the Rings movie, or the return of Happy Gilmore.
